I am an architectural designer and Tirohanga Design Ltd is a little company I started in 2018, providing high quality 2D and 3D architectural design services in the Far-North.

While studying I managed to clock up three years living in Brazil on different exchanges with Rotary in high school, Otago University during my degree in graphic design and through UNITEC as part of my Masters of Architecture Professional. These cultural experiences helped me understand the value of successful, vibrant and sustainable public spaces and safe housing to the community. Ultimately my travels inspired my masters thesis on urban planning and fueled the desire to return home and contribute to the community.

Since graduating I have worked on a variety of architectural projects from educational to residential. More recently I have been privileged to be collaborating with ĀKAU (Kaikohe) in a variety of conceptual projects including commercial, educational, interior and various art installations. This experience was a fantastic introduction to inclusive bi-cultural design with the local taitamariki, and ĀKAU’s inspiring approach to alternative practice.

I am also passionate about the environment and enjoy spending my spare time freediving and working on projects such as building a tiny off-grid house and creating art work.
